State versus private sector provision of water services in Armenia

Naira HARUTYUNYAN

Frontiers of Environmental Science & Engineering 2012, Volume 6, Issue 5,   Pages 620-630 doi: 10.1007/s11783-012-0425-8

Abstract: Despite increasing advocacy and adaptation of public-private model of water governance worldwide sincethe 1990s, today only 5% of the world’s population is served by water utilities with private involvementThe present article examines the experience of the water sector in Armenia with private sector participationThe study describes the process of the introduction of public-private partnerships in the water sectorThe empirical evidence shows that private participation in general led to improved overall performance

Bending failure performance of a shield tunnel segment based on full-scale test and numerical analysis

Frontiers of Structural and Civil Engineering   Pages 1033-1046 doi: 10.1007/s11709-023-0973-y

Abstract: This study focuses on the bending failure performance of a shield tunnel segment.little effect on the cracking load but significantly influenced the failure and ultimate loads of the segmentIt is suggested that in the reinforcement design of the subway segment, the reinforcement ratio and thelongitudinal reinforcement can be chosen in the range of 0.7%–1.2% and 49%–55%, respectively, allowing the segmentuse the reinforcement and exert the design strength, thereby improving the bearing capacity of the segment
